"Joanna, I Love You"

Kool and the Gang had it right. On Saturday evening, Joanna Newsom played Greensboro College and it was all that I hoped for and more. The show was remarkable. Her backing band was reverent and completely in tune. Newsom didn't miss a beat, or a pluck or a strum, for that matter.

"Sawdust and Diamonds" was my favorite and "The Book of RightOn" was a close second. The former made me cry and the latter made me laugh. Worth seeing if you get the chance.
